Costume jewellery is defined that all the jewellery is made from non-precious materials such as goldstone or gold-plated, silvertone or silver-plated, silver wire, resin, beads, pearlesque, plastics, wood and leather, etc.

This excludes jewellery made from all precious metals, such as gold and silver, precious or semi-precious gems or stones, natural and cultured pearls.
